Enhance your travel planning experience with Road Trip Planner, a comprehensive app that allows you to effortlessly map out your desired destinations and create detailed trip itineraries. With the ability to place pins on a global map for each location you want to visit, Road Trip Planner lets you visualize your route in a convenient and efficient manner. You can easily enter trip details for each location, ensuring that your itinerary is complete and well-organized.

Road Trip Planner offers multiple sample files, including an informative Route 66 sample file, allowing you to explore various travel possibilities. You can try out the app by downloading our free RTP Viewer app, which provides a virtual replica of Road Trip Planner but limits your capacity to save edits.

One of the most appealing aspects of Road Trip Planner is that it requires no subscription and respects your privacy by abstaining from the collection of any personal data.

With Road Trip Planner, you can customize each pin on the map to correspond with specific information. Each pin displays various details, such as arrival and departure dates and times, travel time to the location, time spent at the location, pin names and addresses, as well as additional notes and images. The app further allows freedom in terms of customizing pin colors and icons, while providing URLs for related information, weather reports, transport type options (driving or walking), Internet search results, and a range of activities to choose from. Additionally, you can select between multiple routes (where available) while viewing driving distances between pins, driving time estimations, fuel costs, travel advisories, and turn-by-turn driving directions. Furthermore, Road Trip Planner permits the exportation of pin data directly to your calendar.

The versatility of each pin extends to their ability to accommodate multiple activities. For every activity added to a pin, you have the option to record various details such as the name of the activity, activity date, time, and duration, associated costs, phone and FAX numbers, address, URL, email address, confirmation number, notes, and even attach a picture.

There are two types of pins available within Road Trip Planner; Route Pins and Points of Interest (POI) Pins. While Route Pins are designed to establish your travel route, POI Pins help to locate points of interest on the map.

Road Trip Planner caters to individual preferences by allowing you to choose between Apple Maps and OpenStreet Maps as your mapping platform. You also have the option to cache non-Apple maps to your device for offline use, providing you with seamless navigation even in areas with limited internet connectivity. Additional information regarding settings and app usage can be found in the Help section.

For air and rail routes, Road Trip Planner can display a straight line between pins for better visibility.

Road Trip Planner enables you to easily add, remove, or rearrange itinerary pins in any order that suits your travel plans. Additionally, you have the ability to send your routes and pins directly to Apple Maps for an enhanced navigation experience. The app also supports the importation and exportation of GPX data files.

Each trip planned with Road Trip Planner can be saved as a separate document, providing a convenient way to maintain a record of your past travel experiences.

If you prefer accessing your trip information on your Mac computer, Road Trip Planner offers a companion app available on the Mac App Store. Additionally, you can conveniently send location data from any of our location-savvy apps directly to Road Trip Planner.

The itinerary feature within Road Trip Planner holds all the essential trip details. You can easily share your itinerary or print it out for easy reference while on the go. The itinerary includes a map image with pins and routes, activities for each Route Pin, detailed cost breakdowns for each activity, total fuel cost estimations, total trip costs, information pertaining to Points of Interest Pins, and comprehensive driving instructions.

Road Trip Planner offers a to-do checklist, ensuring that you don't forget any essential tasks or items during your travels.
